Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth)

Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth) was first launched officially on 1983 and it was in the Frankfurt Auto Show. Mercedes took the help of a car engineering company in Britain for manufacturing the engine of this cool car. And it was Cosworth who designed the engine for Mercedes. Thus this car got the name Cosworth attached to it. This Mercedes 190E is with a 2.3 litre engine that is capable of generating 136 hp. Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth) participated in an endurance test and was able to attach a bunch of world records to it’s name. The average speed were about 247 km/h and the length of the test was over 50,000 km. So, the average speed of 247 km/h is based on that length. The combustion chamber of this car was is 16 valves and this is the highest possible amount of valves that can be practically be fitted into a combustion chamber.

The car is pretty luxurious from inside. Anyone would love to own the Mercedes 190Ecar which is with 2.3 litre engine and designed by Cosworth. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h took me just under 8 secs.

There were seperate versions of Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth) designed by Mercedes for racing purposes and also for road version. Thus the road version was not having some of the facilities and specification that is found in the other version. The exhaust port size of the road version of Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth) was smaller than that of the other version. Instead of Kugelfischer fuel injection, the road version is with Bosch K-jetronic. And after making such modifications on the road version, the engine was then able to generate 185 bhp. Thus the road version of Mercedes 190E 2.3 16v (Cosworth) is with really stunning flexible engine.
