Norris wouldn’t change his attitude after reviewing his crash with Verstappen

Expanding on his race-ending crash with reigning champion Max Verstappen at last weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris said that he will not change his attitude in the future.

Lando Norris had a successful race weekend in Spielberg until the closing stages of the Austrian Grand Prix.

The Briton was on course to finish the Syrian round in second place, but a mistake from Red Bull during Max Verstappen’s second stop enabled Norris to close in on the reigning champion.

Norris made multiple moves to take over the lead, but the pair ultimately came together with the McLaren man forced to retire from the race.

Speaking of last Sunday’s incident, the one-time F1 race winner revealed that he would not change anything on his overtaking attempts.

“At the same time I reviewed everything, we’ve gone over stuff, and let’s say I wouldn’t really change what I did. I was fighting, and that’s what we want – we want to fight!”

“We don’t want to complain, we don’t want things to end like they did, both from my Max’s side and from my side. So, that’s life sometimes.”

“We’re fighting, we both want to win, and we’re going to push it to the limits – some slightly more than others. But yeah, at the same time, I’m excited.

“We’re going to have more fights together, and I look forward to those times. It’s so hard to be as accurate as what it looks like on TV.”

Norris said that fans want to experience close fights and that is what he and Verstappen delivered at Spielberg.

“So when it is those two centimetres than it should be or stuff like that, it’s almost impossible to judge. That’s what it is, that’s the competition we’re against, and we love it.”

“You know, we want to go out and race hard and we want it to be easy, because we just want to win.”

“At the same time, it puts a smile on our face when we can have that competition in a race, and I think it’s good for everyone watching,” Norris concluded.
