Teslas aren’t supposed to have buttons? Tell this owner

-

Tesla has long pursued a minimalist approach to its interiors, with the latest Model 3 lacking everything from conventional indicator stalks to an instrument cluster.

One Tesla owner in China has had enough of this spartan approach, instead retrofitting his Model Y with some good old-fashioned buttons.

In a video shared by Ray on X (formerly Twitter), we can see the switch bank before and after the installation.

The Model Y owner has installed a row of physical switches below his car’s touchscreen to control key climate control and seat functions, as well as to open the front and rear boots, lock and unlock the car, and fold the side mirrors.

All up, there appear to be 12 buttons in total, connected to the control unit port in his Tesla.

What do people think of this change? Tesla owners, do you think this is an improvement?
